TECHNICAL BRILLIANCE
Technical Specifications
Our specialised laminating glass process, combined with a contemporary, unique design system, offers exciting
new ways to use coloured and textured glass in architectural projects, while fully complying with safety glazing
standards.
Technical specs
Technical Brilliance Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered. In the event
of breaking, the glass layers are held in place by an interlayer of Ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA). The EVA interlayer
keeps the glass layers bonded even when broken; its high strength prevents the glass from breaking into large
sharp pieces.
Applications
Laminated glass is normally used when there is a possibility of human impact, or where the glass could fall if
shattered.
Sheet size specifications
The maximum size of our laminated panels is restricted by the maximum size of our equipment (3300mm x
2400mm) and glass size. Textured and coloured glass sheet sizes vary, we recommend you enquire about
available sizes when selecting glass.
Decorative inserts
The maximum width for decorative images printed on PET interlay is 1500mm. There are no length restrictions.
Interlay thickness
Interlayer thickness for textured glass is generally 1.52mm
Standards
Technical Brilliance Laminated Glass is tested in accordance with AS/NZS 2208:1996, the Australia/New
Zealand Standard for Safety Glazing Materials in Buildings.

Product Acceptance Standards
Dimension tolerances
All dimensions +/- 2mm unless specified otherwise. Edge misalignment between panels shall not exceed 3mm.
Visual distortion and surface quality
The standard for laminated glass is based on any faults being not readily visible at 3 metres when viewed
perpendicular to the surface and as the glass would normally be viewed.
Scratches
Scratches less than 75mm in length and less than 0.5mm in width are allowable. Heavy scratches less than
75mm in length and less than 0.75mm in width are permissible if within 100mm of the glass edge.
Edge defects
Defects that do not exceed 5mm in diameter are permitted in the edge area. If bubbles are present, the bubbled
area shall not exceed 5% of the edge area.
